Community Notice

 This notice is to inform the community of the proposed price increase for student lunch for the school year 2012/2013.  Currently the cost for lunch at the elementary schools is $1.35 and $1.50 at the middle/high schools.  The Student Nutrition Department is proposing to raise the price of lunch to $1.50 at the elementary level, $1.65 at the middle school/high school level, and the adult cost of meals to $3.25, which is currently $3.00. 

The purpose of the increase is to help offset the anticipated cost of the product that will be needed for the school year 2012/2013. The cost for our product will increase because the state has mandated increased serving sizes of fruits and vegetables, for both breakfast and lunch. We are asking for the public’s support and input on this matter.  Please feel free to stop by my office at 600 N. Second street or call me at 505-285-2776 to offer your input.

Lastly, please be advised that the price increase does not affect students who are on free or reduced lunches.
